职位描述: We are recruiting talent teacher for WLSAs unique curriculum, the Global Impact Program (GIP) which includes the following subjects:
Skills Development Program (SDP)
Course Description: Many Chinese students who go to study at foreign universities often lack some important skills that are necessary to succeed. SDP was designed by WLSA to help students develop these skills and give them a foundation for achieving excellence both in the subjects they study at WLSA
and at university and in their adult career as well.
Students learn and practice five core skills:
• Independent reflective learning – growth mindset, self-reflection, setting goals, project planning.
• Enterprise skills – leadership and teamwork.
• Presentation skills – speaking to an audience, presentation strategies.
• Critical thinking – identifying bias, making conclusions, constructing a logical argument.
• Research skills – constructing a research question, constructing a logical argument, finding authoritative academic information and evidence (from surveys, interviews, and written sources),
• integrating evidence into your work, how to use MLA format standards(Modern Language Association, it is a formatting style for writing essays that we teach our students).
Students will apply these skills in a variety of group project work that they complete during the school year, culminating in a final project at the end of the year. They will also reflect regularly on their learning by maintaining a reflective/analytical journal.
Colloquy
Colloquy is a critical thinking class focusing on challenging students’ assumptions about their everyday lives and relating social concepts to their own daily lives.
ADAS
ADAS is a course that aids students in transitioning into American culture by making them aware of current social and political issues and helping them be literate in their understanding of those issues.
HPQ
Course Description: The Higher Project Qualification requires students to study a topic area which extends or expands their learning in an appropriate area of study.
EPQ
Course Description: The Extended Project Qualification helps students develop and demonstrate their project management skills and provides opportunities for extended writing.
We are eager for talents who:
- can discuss, at a high school level, the topics of Social Class, Gender, Race, Religion, and Art. There is existing material to support you, but confidence in discussion on these issues is preferred. If you have a background in social studies, philosophy, political science, or other Humanities, they
match very well with our colloquy and ADAS teaching.
- can teach and communicate to students in important skills for college success. These include: critical thinking skills, research skills, formatting skills (such as MLA), note taking and other practical skills for college success. Any degree subjects are accepted with instructor confidence in these
skillsets.
- Bachelor Degree or above, m inimum two-year teaching experiences;TESOL, CELTA, or TEFL certificate with practicum or teaching license / certificates getting from home country is essential.
- Passion in education and be capable of motivating students and helping shape theirfutures.

Skill Development Program (SDP), originally collaborated with Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE), is a project-based learning class. It fosters students’ skills of performing research, critical evaluation, reflective learning, efficient teamwork, and effective communication.
Assimilation and Difference in American Society (ADAS), adapting courses from Harvard-Westlake School, is a primarily Harkness-table learning class. Student analyze and contrast cultural values between the US and China, examining and predicting their own struggles before creating a plan of adaptation to the country. The class structure enables students to engage in a Socratic-seminar environment and learning how to be a productive member in discussion.
Colloquy, originated from the division course from Winchester College in the UK, is a project-based learning class that directly focuses on students’ ability to communicate in a variety of forms. Academic writing, presentation, and teamwork skills are particularly targeted.
Ethics, focuses on moral education, integrity, and ethical responsibility as a part of the international community. Through the course, students gain a wider understanding of ethical issues, particularly those that will affect them around the world.
