ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
An English Language Arts teacher is expected to:
• Be passionate about teaching and able to motivate learners to reach their full potential
•Be well-organized and punctual
•Teach a combination of English Language Arts classes up to 25 classes per week
•Lead or assist in conducting extra-curricular clubs or Enrichment Programs (EP) programs up to 3 hours and or teams/academic classes/study halls.
• Prepare objectives and outlines for courses of study, following curriculum guidelines and requirements of the school.
• Plan lessons, units and projects with clear objectives, and which help students understand and achieve those objectives
• Prepare for assigned classes, and show written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate supervisors using the ATLAS software.
• Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students varying needs and interests, as well as the objectives of the curriculum.
• Use computers, audiovisual aids, and other equipment and materials to supplement instruction.
• Develop and implement curriculum through planning and coordination with fellow teachers and the Head of English, Head of ESL, Head of Schools and Academic Principals
• Observe and evaluate students behavior and social development.
• Prepare, assign and grade class work and homework.
• Prepare, administer, and grade tests, projects and assessments to evaluate student progress.
• Maintain accurate and complete records as required by school administrative policies using PowerSchool.
• Instruct through lectures, discussions, activities, and demonstrations.
